MARYVILLE, Tenn. (July 17) After not having a good qualifying run Donald started 17th on the grid for the Southern Nationals opener at Wythe Raceway. He was able to keep the Blount Motorsports Massey Electric Rocket out of trouble and move up through the field to fourth. He ended up in sixth at the checkered flag.

The car was off and on all night. When it was on it was a good quick race car, but when it was off it was a handful.

Donald did a great job being able to come from 17th and finish sixth with a less than wonderful race car,” said David. “This is the car that we wrecked at Eldora. We have been through it a number of times and went through it again after the race. We will see how it shakes out at Tri-County tonight and if it isn’t better we will just keep looking.”

Tonight the Southern National Series heads to Tri-County Race Track. Tri-County is in Brasstown, N.C. and Donald picked up his first win there last month. On Tuesday night the series will be at 411 Motor Speedway for the third event in the 11-race mini-series.
