MARYVILLE, Tenn. (May 31) Donald and the Blount Motorsports Team had a good weekend, but it was not good enough for them to record a fourth consecutive Spring Nationals Championship.

For the past three years Blount Motorsports has won the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals Championship with Donald behind the wheel for the last two. This year they were second just 14 points behind Brandon Overton.

Out of this past weekend’s three races they set fast time twice, led 31 laps and recorded a second and two third place finishes.

“What we needed to do was what we did in 2015 when we won two of the last three races and came from behind to win the championship. But that didn’t happen this year,” said David Bryant. “We had a good car, the driver did a good job and we just came up a little bit short.

It is not the end of the world and the way the car and everything is coming together we are looking forward to some hot summer racing.”

This Friday night Donald and BMS will be at Tri-County Race Track for the SNBS race and on Saturday night Sonald and Tommy will be at Smoky Mountain for the West Chevrolet Ironman Classic.
