MARYVILLE, Tenn. (June 26) A lapped car knocked Donald out of the lead and into the wall during the Southern Nationals Bonus Series event at Florence Speedway Saturday night. Being knocked into the wall knocked Donald out of the race and he was scored 21st in the final rundown.

Donald had qualified the Ole Ben Franklin Motors sponsored Blount Motorsports X1R Rocket first in the second group, won the third heat and led the first 18 laps on his way to a good finish if not the win.

“We had a good race car and Donald was running the best we have ever run at Florence, when the lapped car put us to the wall,” said David. “I’m not saying we would have won the race if not for that deal, but if we didn’t win it we were headed for a good finish.”

The damage to the car can and will be fixed at the Blount Motorsports shop and it will be ready to go for this weekends races at Tazewell on July 1 and North Georgia on July 4.

Blount Motorsports enjoys sponsorship from Stowers (CAT) Machinery Corp., Arnold Trucking, Blount Excavating, Cherokee Millwright, Food City, Massey Electric, Tennessee RV, Turner Hydraulics, Ole Ben Franklin Motors and The Wine and Spirits Cellar.
