MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 22) Donald and the Blount Motorsports Team had one of those weekends when they couldn’t get on a roll. In three races, after three good qualifying runs, they finished a disappointing sixth at Rome, a fifth at North Georgia and a 20th at Crossville.

“Ever have a weekend where things just didn’t come together? Well that was our weekend. We had good qualifying runs and good starting positions, but couldn’t take advantage of them,” said David.

On Sunday night at Rome they started fourth on the grid, Saturday at North Georgia started on the pole and at Crossville they started on the outside front row.

“It seemed like when they dropped the checkered flag we were not all that good and didn’t get any better at both Rome and North Georgia. At Crossville we got run into on the first lap and broke a tie rod so we don’t really know how that would have worked out,” continued David “Today, I don’t care where you race the fields are tough and you have to have you stuff stacked up in a neat little pile. This weekend ours wasn’t.”

Next up is the Southern Nationals Bonus Series Race at Tazewell Speedway on Sunday September 3rd. The following week, September 7,8 and 9 and the team will head to Eldora Speedway for the 47th Annual World 100.
