MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Apr. 20) After having good outings in the previous few races the frustration returned as Blount Motorsports was plagued by electrical problems and problems getting a handle on the car.
On Friday night at I-75 Raceway no matter what they did to the car they couldn’t get it to do what they needed it to do. They won the first heat, started ninth and finished 11th.
“Frustrating is not the word I would like to use, but it definitely was a frustrating weekend. We made changes and more changes, but never hit on anything on Friday. The track was different, but you can’t blame it on that cause Brandon (Overton) started outside of us and he won the race,” said David.
On Saturday night the frustration continued only this time it was electrical problems that were the culprit on Donald’s car. After starting 10th and working his way up to fifth something in the electrical system created problems and he finished 20th.
“Saturday night we got Donald’s car good for the feature, had moved up to fifth when something electrical bit us and the frustrations continued,“ continued David.
Saturday night Tommy started ninth in the feature and ended up finishing 12th.
“We were thrashing on Donald’s car, so Kerr was pretty much was on his own. That and the fact he isn’t racing all that much he ended up a mid-pack car. And that is where he started and where he finished,” concluded David
Coming up is another Spring Nationals double header weekend. On Friday night BMS will be at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC. On Saturday night the scene shifts to Mountain View Raceway in Spring City, TN
