MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 17) Although the outcome was not as good as his first $10,000 win last weekend Crossville, Donald won the “Battle of the States” on Friday night, qualified well and had another good run Saturday night in the SNBS Deep Fried 75 at Duck River.
The young Georgia hot shoe qualified well, won the fourth heat and led 18 laps, but while defending the top spot he and Tanner English got together and that ended any hope of a third consecutive win.
“We had a good car all weekend. We won the States Race on Friday night, qualified well and won our heat. We had a good run going, but you have to have a little bit of good luck thrown in to make everything happen,” said David. “When he and English got together it damaged the car and took out the power steering. After going to the back Donald was able to man handle the car and finish eighth.
All in all we will take two good weekends in a row especially since we didn’t destroy the car or end up on our roof tonight.”
With the last three Southern Nationals Bonus races coming up in the first three weekends of November the team is going to take the next couple of weekends off and get ready to finish out the season with those three races.
