MARYVILLE, Tenn. (May 15) Another good run for Billy Ogle and the Blount Motorsports team in the SAS Tennessee Memorial event at Cleveland Speedway, but no big check and no trophy.

Ogle was the fastest qualifier in the Stowers Cat sponsored Rocket but Skip Arp came out with the lead at the drop of the green. Ogle was second and 40-laps later that’s the way they were running when they took the checkered flag.

“The track was so slick that when the green flag dropped whoever came out of the first turn with the lead was going to win the race. I couldn’t use the motor and couldn’t pass lapped cars it was that slick. But that’s all part of it,” Ogle said shaking his head.

“The track was like ice and passing was not on the agenda,” said Larry Garner. “The good thing is we have been qualifying and running well and when the race was over there was not a mark on the car. We are pleased with how we are running, but also very frustrated that we don’t have more to show for it. “

The Blount Motorsports team will take the next weekend off and come back with both Ogle and Tommy Kerr running the Ultimate Double Header over the Memorial Weekend at 411 on Friday night and The Mountain on Saturday night.

Blount Motorsports enjoys sponsorship from Arnold Trucking, Bearden Oil Company, Blount Excavating, Cherokee Millwright, GEOServices, Insurance Partners, Massey Electric, Stowers (CAT) Machinery Corp. and Wine and Spirits Cellar.

They race Rocket chassis (2012 Orange) with power from Custom Race Engines, Dyer’s Top Rods and Gibbs Oil. The shocks are from Öhlins, chassis and suspension components from TWM, drive train components from Quarter Master, Sunoco Race Fuel from Bearden Oil and tires from Hoosier Racing Tires.
