MARYVILLE, Tenn. (June 24) Only the weather was hot this weekend as Tommy Kerr and the BMS team took aim at three Lucas Oil Series events in East Tennessee.

Starting at Cleveland Speedway on Thursday night they qualified 16th and raced to an 11th place finish. On Friday and Saturday nights at Volunteer Speedway they were unable to qualify for either feature.

“When we practiced at Volunteer, it was a hammer down 12 second track. When we unloaded Friday night it was a slick 14 second a lap race track,” said Kerr. “With the quality of the teams that were there if you are behind when you come out of the hauler it is hard if not impossible to catch up.”

The BMS team will take this weekend off and are still trying to decide where to race over the Fourth of July.

“There are a number of races in the area over the Fourth of July and as soon as we figure out where we are going we will put it in the schedule,” finished Kerr.

Blount Motorsports enjoys sponsorship from Blount Excavating, Stowers (CAT) Machinery Corp., LubriCorp, Explosive Specialists, Arnold Trucking, Turner Industrial Supply, GEOServices, Wine and Spirits Cellar and Insurance Partners.

They race a Rocket chassis with power from Custom Race Engines with Dyer’s Top Rods. The shocks are from Öhlins, chassis and suspension components from TWM, brake components from Hawk Performance, Sunoco Race Fuel from Bearden Oil and tires from Hoosier Racing Tires.
