MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 6) In the first race of the season, Talladega Short Track’s Annual Ice Bowl, Billy  piloted the Blount Motorsports entry to a sixth place finish in the Sunday afternoon event.

Starting sixth, Billy moved up to fifth and was shuffled back to sixth on a double file restart.

“We had a good car, but we knew that unless we made some big changes and were really lucky there was no way we could get to the front. So we put some different tires on the car and made some pretty radical changes that basically turned the race into a test session,” said David.  “We finished where we figured we were going to finish and were able to take away some good information from the test.”

Over the holidays BMS sold Billy’s Rocket and a new Rocket should be in the shop by the end of the week.

“We will get working on the new car and be ready to race in Georgia in early February. We have Golden Isle on the schedule, but we might run at Screven too,” continued David. “Between now and the Spring Nationals everything is pretty much up in the air.”
