MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 21) Donald and the Blount Motorsports Team clinched the 2016 SNBS Championship at Saturday night’s series season finale at Boyd’s Speedway.

In the series finale Donald qualified second fastest, won the first heat and started on the pole for “The Gobbler”.

“We had a good race car and we qualified well, won the first heat and started on the pole. After leading four laps Madden got by and then Overton. We had a little something for Madden and had some good racing with him, but nobody had anything for Overton,” said David. “We have gotten the car better and Donald has had some good runs. We have a good base line to build on for next year.”

For the second year in a row Donald and Blount Motorsports won the Spring Nationals Championship as well as Ray Cook’s overall point bonus and added their first SNBS Championship.

“We went into the year looking at winning the Spring Nationals, the Southern Nationals, the Southern National Bonus Series Championship and the overall point championship and ended up winning everything but the Southern Nationals Championship,” continued David. “Three out of four isn’t bad and I don’t want to sound greedy, but all four would have been a lot better.”

“This was a really good year,” said Donal. “I am proud of all we were able to accomplish against the competition we ran with. It would have been great if we would have won the three series and the bonus, but three out of four worked out pretty good.”

The season finale for Donald and Blount Motorsports will be the Leftover an unsanctioned $5,000 to win event at 411 Motor Speedway on Saturday November 26.
