MARYVILLE, Tenn. (May 7) Blount Motorsports tries to schedule a weekend off every now and again and this coming weekend was suppose to be one, but with a SNBS race added for Saturday at Dixie things changed.

The team huddled on Thursday morning and it was decided to go to Lavonia for the WoO race that night and take the rest of the weekend off.

“We decided instead of going to Tazewell for the Lucas race on Friday we would head to Lavonia for WoO on Thursday night and have the weekend off,” said David Bryant. “We packed up and headed south, but on the way the generator for the race truck quit. So we didn’t make Lavonia, but we did the weekend off.”

This Saturday night will see the team at Dixie for the SNBS Southeastern Classic as they race through May. The Memorial Weekend will see five races in five days and that was one of the reasons for the off weekend.

“We all have families and we try to build some off time into the schedule especially when you have five in a row like Memorial Weekend and or the two week grind of the Southern Nationals. We lay out our schedule as the series schedules are released, but with all the variables lots of time things don’t always work as planned,” concluded Bryant.
