MARYVILLE, Tenn. (May 16) The combination of weather, scheduling and surgery was enough to keep the Blount Motorsports team at the shop this past weekend.
“The weather has really been a factor and has really messed up everyone’s schedule,” said Tommy Kerr’s crew chief David Bryant who is recovering from double hernia surgery. “This past weekend any race that was reasonably close to home was either cancelled or postponed. Instead of putting a lot of miles on the hauler to watch it rain we decided to wait until next week and hopefully better weather.”
Next week the team will be at Cleveland Speedway for the 34th running of the Tennessee Memorial. The Southern All Star sanctioned event will pay $5,000 to the winner. Over the Memorial Weekend the team is looking at traveling to Mississippi for two Southern All Star events. The first on Friday at Whynot Motorsports Park and the second on Saturday at Magnolia Motor Speedway.
“We are really hoping for the weather to shape up so we can race and get back into a groove,” concluded Bryant.
