MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 9) After a year behind the wheel of the Blount Motorsports’ primary car Casey Roberts has been released.

“This year has not been a good year for Blount Motorsports. It seemed like everything that could go wrong did go wrong,” said Larry Garner. “I am not insinuating that all or any of it was Casey’s fault, but things didn’t work out and I felt that as a team we needed to make a change.

During the year there were a rash of weather related cancellations, 20 of 69 races were weathered out, plus a whole rash of things that never break broke.

“For any number of reasons, including the weather, parts breaking, the truck breaking, help leaving and just plain bad luck 2018 was not a good year for Blount Motorsports and or Casey Roberts,” said David Bryant. “I am a Casey Roberts fan. He is a stand up guy and a good race car driver, but I work for Blount Motorsports and who drives the car is not one of the decisions I make.”

The last two times Blount Motorsports was looking for a new driver they looked at and interviewed a large number of drivers. This time they already know the drivers they are interested in and are in the process of making the final decision. So please do not call, email or write looking to be considered for the position.

Blount Motorsports enjoys sponsorship from Stowers (CAT) Machinery Corp., Blount Excavating, Massey Electric, Tennessee RV, Turner Hydraulics, Ole Ben Franklin Motors, Food City, and The Wine and Spirits Cellar.
