MARYVILLE, Tenn. (May 14) After an unscheduled weekend off Casey and the BMS Team were in action again Saturday night at Dixie Speedway. Casey Roberts brought the Stowers Cat sponsored Vic Hill powered Rocket home eighth.
A miss understood communication between Casey and David led to a less that wonderful qualifying run. He won the first heat and started eight on the grid.
“We had a miscommunication as he went out to qualify and consequently our qualifying run was not all that good. He did a good job winning the first heat, but when you are starting 11th in today’s Late Model fields it is going to be and it was a long night,” David. “It hasn’t been a good time here lately. Things keep tearing up, like the generator, the spring tester is out for repair for the third time and a host of other things have gone wrong. When you add in the weather and the fact we are still searching for the right combination for Casey it is really frustrating.”
David has been involved in racing for almost 40 years and says when it comes to rough times this isn’t his first rodeo.
“I’ve been through these rough patches enough times to know that all you can do is keep digging and eventually you will dig you way out of it. We are digging away as we speak,” concluded David.
BMS and Casey will keep on digging in Kentucky this weekend for two Southern Nationals Bonus Series events, one at Lake Cumberland Speedway and one at Richmond Raceway.
