MARYVILLE Tenn. (Sept 10) Casey and Blount Motorsports ended a lot of frustration when they parked their Vic Hill powered Rocket XR1 in Victory Lane after winning the first half of the SAS double header at Oglethorpe Speedway Park Friday night.

Casey qualified and started third, took the lead on the sixth circuit and was never headed as he took the win.

“For Casey to get his first win with us after all the frustration and the weird things that have happened to him and the team this season was really special,” said David. “Now with that first win under out belts hopefully we can end up the season on a high note.”

“This is the longest winless streak either David or I have been through and let me tell you it hasn’t been a whole lot of fun. Hopefully we have put whatever it was out of it’s misery,” said Caset. “The car was good and everything fell into place for the first time this year. Oglethorpe is a racy race track and I would love to see more Late Model series events held here.”

The second half of the SAS double header, The Rebel Yell at Screven Motor Speedway produced another good run for Roberts and the BMS team. Roberts qualified and started second, but was out gunned on the start by pole sitter Brandon Overton.

As Overton cruised in the clean air Roberts had his hands full with Chris Ferguson as the two raced for the runner up spot.

“Chris (Ferguson) and I raced each other really hard all night long. With all those double file restarts it would have been easy for either of us to get into the other, but it was some good hard clean racing. The only bad part was we were racing for second,” concluded Casey.

“It was a promising weekend. We had two good races, got our first win with Casey and Casey and Chris Ferguson put on a show at Screven,” continued Bryant. “What is really great is that after two races where nothing broke there was one tire mark on the door. Man I didn’t know how much I’ve missed that.”
