BRASSTOWN, NC (Sept 29) Casey and Blount Motorsports made another giant step toward salvaging the 2018 season as they won the Tarheel 50 at Tri-County Race Track Friday night.

Casey qualified second in his group, won the Dash and started on the inside front row with fast qualifier Dale McDowell on the outside. McDowell would take the early lead with Roberts pressuring the leader. On lap 23 McDowell cut a tire down and Roberts took the lead and was never seriously challenged as he went on to win the 10k event.

“It was a great evening and I know when you win that is what you are suppose to say, but the car, Casey and everything was right on the money tonight,” said David. “After qualifying second Casey won the Dash going away, started on the inside front row and was all over Dale after the race started. When Dale cut down the tire and Casey took the lead he was never seriously challenged.”

“We have had a rough season with a lot of rainouts and a lot of bad luck. Tonight everything worked out and we were able to bring home the win,” said Casey. “I can’t thank everyone at Blount Motorsports for sticking with me. It has been a long year and our goal is to finish strong. Winning the race and picking up $11,150.00 for our efforts goes a long way toward that goal.”

After the Tri-County win Casey and the team headed to Dixie Speedway for tonight’s Lucas Oil Shootout and on Sunday up to Rome for the Lucas Oil Showdown.
