MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Mar. 20) Casey and the Boys scored two decent finishes in the SNBS double header weekend, a third at Tri-County Race Track and a seventh at Toccoa Speedway, as they continue to work out the kinks and get on top of early season problems.
On Friday night Casey qualified second in the second group, started fourth on the grid and posted a third place finish.
“The track was pretty much a one groove ride along and we had a second or third place car so our third place finish wasn’t much of a surprise,” said David. “Casey tried down low a couple of times and he could pull along side of second place Weiss, but that was all there was.”
Saturday night the primary car had problems in practice so they broke out the backup, set fast time in the first group, started on the pole and led the first 18 laps. After being passed for the lead there was a caution and on the restart Casey started going backwards.
“Saturday it seems like all we did was play catch up after we had to roll out the backup car. Good qualifying run and was racing pretty good when something happened in the rear suspension of the car,” said Casey. “I thought the right rear was going flat and pulled it in. It wasn’t that so I went back out and finished seventh.
David is going to see what went wrong after he gets things washed up. We will get it fixed and head for Volunteer on Thursday.”
Coming up for BMS are back-to-back Lucas Oil races. The first is at Volunteer Speedway on Thursday and then Boyd’s Speedway on Friday night.
