MARYVILLE, Tenn., (Sept. 4) Casey led 40 of the 44-lap Buddy Rogers Memorial at Tazewell Speedway Sunday before he cut a tire and ended up being scored 12th in the final tally.
Casey, who started on the outside front row of the Iron Man/SNBS 44 lap feature, set sail and led the first 40 laps. Multiple wrecks left the track covered in debris and something cut down a tire on the BMS Rocket.
“The way this year has gone you knew that with Casey leading something was going to happen and it did,” said David . “We had a tire going down starting about lap 32 and we just kept slowing down. I doubt we would have won the race, but whatever got the tire the second time just finished us off.
This season has been a real trial and like I’ve said from the beginning all you can do is keep on digging until whatever it is gets off our back.”
The BMS team will keep on digging this weekend with a SAS event at Oglethorpe Speedway Park on Friday night and a second ASA event at Screven Motor Speedway on Saturday night.
