MARYVILLE, Tenn, (Sept. 13) Maryville, Tenn. based Blount Motorsports announced today that David Bryant will be joining the team. Bryant, who has been involved in East Tennessee dirt racing for 26 years, will be involved in all of the day-to-day operations of the Dirt Late Model team.

“We are very pleased that David has come on board,” said Larry Garner. “David has the knowledge, the attitude and the disposition that will fit well with the team.”

Bryant, who over the years has worked with a number of drivers including Scott Sexton, Mark Vineyard and Roger Best has for the last two years worked with Joe Loven at Volunteer Speedway. He has known and has had a good relationship with Kerr for years and is looking forward to working with him.

“I enjoyed the last two years at Volunteer Speedway and learned a lot while I was there, but I really missed being involved with a race team,” said Bryant “Tommy (Kerr) and I go back a long way. We understand and respect each other and we are looking forward to working together. B.J. Hillman, who has done an outstanding job at BMS, and I will split the crew chief duties.

I have some catching up to do and this will be a real challenge. A challenge I am looking forward to.”

“David and I have known each other for years and there is a lot of mutual respect between us. I am really looking forward to working with him and I think that he will add a lot to the team,” said Kerr. “We will race the rest of the season and then get ready over the winter to come out strong in 2011.”
