MARYVILLE, Tenn. (July 17) With the first two races of the 10 race Southern National Series in the books the Blount Motorsports Team is not thrilled with it’s start, but is not too worried about it either.

The team finished third in the opening event at Wythe Raceway and followed up with a fourth place finish last night at Volunteer Speedway.

“We were a little soft on tires at Wythe and was just a bit off at Volunteer,” said David Bryant. “Volunteer was a little rough and Billy, who although he likes to race at Volunteer is not a fan of rough race tracks.”

The new Rocket chassis and the new Vic Hill engine both are doing well and will continue to get better as the series progresses.

“The car and the motor are doing great. All we need now are better decisions at better times,” concluded Bryant.

After a day off the series will resume with four consecutive races at East Alabama Motor Speedway, Swainsboro Raceway, Screven Motor Speedway and Rome Speedway.

Blount Motorsports enjoys sponsorship from Stowers (CAT) Machinery Corp., Al Blankenship Concrete, Blount Excavating, Cherokee Millwright, Food City, GEO Services, Insurance Partners, Massey Electric, Turner Hydraulics, VP Race Fuels and Wine and Spirits Cellar.

BMS races Rocket chassis with power from Vic Hill Racing Engines, which uses Dyer’s Top Rods, Storie Manifolds, Driven Racing Oil and VP Race Fuels. Drive train components are from Quarter Master, the shocks are Öhlins, chassis and suspension components from TWM and springs from Hyperco. Parts and pieces are from J.T.
