MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 14) Billy’s win of the Inaugural Fall Classic at Dixie Speedway gives the BMS team confidence and momentum as they go to Cleveland Speedway this Saturday night for the 23rd Annual SAS Gobbler. The Gobbler is the final Southern All Star race of the season and will determine the National Champion.
“The Southern All Star point battle has come down to the last race of the season and to go into Cleveland Saturday night for the Gobbler coming off a win at Dixie gives us a lot of confidence and momentum,” grinned Billy. “And when there are only two points separating William (Thomas) and I you need all the help you can get.
Not only is Billy in a tight battle for the championship, but Tommy, who finished ninth at Dixie, is in a battle of his own with David Payne for the third spot in final point standings.
“We have not had out best year and would really like to be up there battling for the championship, but with that said we are in third and have our hands full with David Payne who is 12 points behind us in fourth,” said Tommy. “We hate that we are third in points but finishing fourth is not something we want to do.”
After finishing up the season at Cleveland Speedway this Saturday night the team will be able to enjoy family and friends over the holiday season while they decide what is on the agenda for the 2012 season.
