MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 21) Donald and Tommy  scored a third and sixth place finish for Blount Motorsports in the Smoky Mountain Speedway season finale Saturday night.

Donald started on the pole, led the first 12 laps and then swapped the lead with eventual winner Chris Madden. On the lap 18 restart he was helped into the wall knocking out the front end of the car.

“We had a good car and Donald was having a good race until the restart on lap 18 when we had some help getting into the wall. That knocked out the front suspension and after that we were not much good,” said David.

Tommy had his problems qualifying and started fifteenth on the grid. When the green flag for the feature dropped he started his march toward the front and crossed the line sixth.

“Tommy had another bad qualifying run, but ran really well in the feature,” said Bryant. “It is hard to run really well when you are not running on a regular basis and it is really hard to get in the top five and have a good finish when you start deep in the field. All things considered he had a good run.”

Blount Motorsports will be back in action on September 30 at Tri-County Race Track for a Southern Nationals Bonus Race and then the Lucas Oil events on October 1 and 2 at Dixie and Rome Speedways.
