MARYVILLE, Tenn., (July 19) Coming off a disappointing finish in race two of the 11 race Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals mini-series Donald had a near perfect night to take the win in race three Tuesday night at 411 Motor Speedway .
Donald had the overall fast time, started on the pole and led every lap to record his second series win and his first in 2017.
“We have been chasing this car a bit and thanks to Mark Richards up at Rocket it looks like we might have caught it,” said David. “Mark spent a lot of time with us yesterday and the information he gave us really helped.
Thanks to Mark Richards, a new Vic Hill engine that ran flawlessly and Donald doing a great job behind the wheel we were able to take the win tonight.”
In race two held at Tri-County Race Track Monday night, Donald was fast qualifier in the second group and started on the outside front row. He was running second to pole sitter and eventual winner Overton when the car started to get tighter and Casey Roberts moved past for second.
Running third when the next caution came out the right rear tire went down sending McIntosh to the pits for fresh rubber. He came back out and was able to work his way back through the field to record an eighth place finish.
“The car was still a little tight, but we had a good run going until we had the flat,” said David. “We will just have to see how the car is at 411 (Motor Speedway) tomorrow night and go from there.”
With three of the 11 series races in the books the series heads to Georgia for the next five events. The first stop will be at Senoia Raceway on Thursday with Swainsboro, Screven, Rome and Boyd’s Speedway to follow.
