MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 10) Donald piloted the Blount Motorsports Vic Hill powered Rocket Race Car to the biggest payday of his young career when he won the SNBS Tennessee Championship at Crossville Speedway Saturday night. On his way to the $10,000 first place check he set fast time, won the first heat, started on the pole and led every lap.

Eight cautions, many after tire wear became a problem in the later laps of the 60-lap event, slowed the action, but had little effect on Donald as he was able to hold the point from flag-to-flag.

“The car was good and we were not sliding around all that much, but we were a couple of laps away from blowing out the right rear.

We have been chasing this car and after making wholesale changes last week at Rome we thought we might have found something. This weekend we set fast time, won the first heat and led every lap in the feature, so we did find something,” said David.

Donald did a great job all weekend long. He took care of the car and was able to pick up his first $10,000 win.”

For Donald and Blount Motorsports it has been an up and down season and they have not been able to string together a series of good runs.

“This was a good as well as a much needed win, but we don’t want to get too high until we see if we can back it up with another good run at Duck River this weekend. With the way this season has gone we will probably end up on our roof, but this is racing so you never know,” concluded David.

Donald and BMS go into this weekend’s SNBS Deep Fried 75 with a 66 point lead over David Payne in the championship point standings.
