MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Mar. 16) Since Blount Motorsports has put the new Rocket with a new Vic Hill power plant under Donald things have picked up. Saturday night at North Georgia Speedway the lethal combination won its first feature.

Donald qualified second fast and started on outside front row along side fast qualifier Cory Hedgecock. The two front row starters battled for five laps before McIntosh took the lead and led the next 35-laps for the win.

“Car was really good and I think being out front with the clean air really helped,” said Donald. “I’ve said since the first race with the new Rocket that it really felt good. When you add the Vic Hill 434 engine and you have a lethal combination.

I have to dedicate this race to Phil Coltrane who got me started in dirt racing. He has some health issues and is in the hospital right now. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”

So far with the Rocket/Vic Hill combination the team has scored two third place finishes at Clarksville, a fifth in the WoO event at Smoky Mountain and the Friday the 13th win at North Georgia Speedway.

“We debuted the car at Clarksville and made a couple of changes that have continued to work at Smoky Mountain and here at North Georgia,” said David. “The car is running awfully good, Donald is really pleased with it and he can’t say enough about the Vic Hill engine.”

The next races on the schedule are Spring National events at Boyd’s on Friday night and Senoia on Saturday night. Series promoter Ray Cook has said he will know more and make an announcement on Wednesday. As soon as we find out what is going on we will post it on the website.
