MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Jun 30) Donald has done well racing at 411 Motor Speedway and was very disappointed with his sixth place finish in the Lucas Oil Tennessee Action Track 50 at the 3/8-mile oval.

Donald qualified second to Jimmy Owens in the first group, won the second heat and was third on the starting grid. Nobody had anything for eventual winner Owens, but he raced with the leaders and in the top five until the last lap restart when he was dropped to sixth.

“Good qualifying, good heat race win, some good racing, but the finish should have been better than sixth,” said Donald. “As good as we normally run here at 411 and to have the start we had a sixth place finish is a big disappointment.”

With the primary car getting repaired and readied for the Southern Nationals it was the backup car that was on the track Friday night.

“I am not sure what happened, but the back up car seemed to be running good and I agree with Donald, the sixth place finish was a big disappointment.” Said David.

Over the upcoming Fourth of July weekend McIntosh and BMS will race two Iron-man events on two East Tennessee high-banked tracks. Friday night at Tazewell Speedway and Saturday night at Volunteer Speedway.
