MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Jul 22) After a mechanical induced 21st place finish at the Southern National opener at Wythe Raceway Donald and the Boya have started to move forward with a fourth place finish at 411 Motor Speedway and a seventh place finish at Tri-County Race Track.
Although Donald was fast qualifier at 411 the car had developed a vibration. It took a transmission change and two driveshaft changes to fix the vibration and that left little time to fine-tune the car for the race.
“With all the problems we had we ran out of time and were not able to tweak the car for the race,” said an upbeat Donald before the race at Tri-County. “I know we dug ourselves a pretty big hole at Wythe, but it isn’t anything we can’t and won’t overcome.”
In the third race of the 10 race series at Tri-County Race Track, Donald qualified and started sixth and posted a seventh place finish.
“We weren’t good in practice, but got the car better for qualifying,” said David from the sauna/pits in Swainsboro getting ready for race number four. “We didn’t go far enough with the changes before the feature and as a result we weren’t much good.”
Tonight will be race number four at Swainsboro, tomorrow night race five at Screven and on Sunday it’s Rome Speedway for the sixth race.
