MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 10) Donald piloted the Blount Motorsports Rocket to a second place finish and Tommy Kerr scored a fifth place finish in the Clash Super Late Model Series event at Volunteer Speedway Saturday night.

Donald qualified second and ran second, while Tommy qualified fourth and finished fifth in the 40-lap event.

“We had a great race car, but we made the wrong choice when we went with a hard right rear tire. Thanks to Donald driving the devil out of the car we were able to come away with a second,” said David. “Tommy qualified fourth and finished fifth.”

Blount Motorsports is currently upgrading the older of two cars with a new chassis from Rocket.

“The car we ran at the end of last year and through the end of the Summer Nationals is getting a little fatigued. All the parts and pieces are good so we are going to pick up a new frame from Rocket and swap everything out,” continued David. “This should give us what we need to finish out the season.”

Next on the schedule is the Clash event at Smoky Mountain next Saturday, followed by the Lucas Oil Scorcher at Volunteer Speedway on Thursday August 20th.

Blount Motorsports enjoys sponsorship from Stowers (CAT) Machinery Corp., Arnold Trucking, Blount Excavating, Cherokee Millwright, Food City, GEO Services, Insurance Partners, Massey Electric, Tennessee RV, Turner Hydraulics, VP Race Fuels and Wine and Spirits Cellar.
