MARYVILLE, Tenn. (May 9) Donald started BMS Turner Hydraulics Rocket fifth and finished sixth in the WoO sanctioned Outlaw 50 at Smoky Mountain Speedway Saturday night.

In today’s Dirt Late Model racing there are so many cars capable of winning that where you start is more important than ever. Donald started third and finished second in his heat to make the redraw and he drew fifth.

“We still haven’t gotten our qualifying where we want it. Tonight we were fifth or sixth in our group and if we hadn’t drawn a five in the redraw we would have started eighth and that is not what we are looking for,” said Donald. “We have been trying to tighten the car up a bit and we went just a little too far Saturday night.”

Donald faired better than Tommy who didn’t have a good qualifying run. Starting back in his heat Kerr finished eighth. When he was pulling out of the pits for the B-Main a header broke and that finished the night.

On Friday night Donald and B.J. took Donald’s car to Tri-County Race Track for an unsanctioned race. After qualifying seventh he broke something in the rear end and was unable to start the race.
