MARYVILLE, Tenn. (May 8) Donald and the boys put together a good run in the 40-lap Ultimate event at Rome Speedway Sunday evening coming away with a third place finish in the Arnold Trucking sponsored Rocket.
Donald had the second fastest qualifying time overall. He started third moved into second, went back to fourth and then back to third where he finished.
“After three rainouts this weekend we finally found some good weather. We had a good car, everything worked well and Donald came home with a third place finish,” said David. “We haven’t found that sweet spot yet, but we are getting closer and closer.”
The boys will be getting another Rocket X1R soon and then all three cars, including Tommy’s ride, will be the same chassis.
“Having two different style Rocket Chassis in the shop isn’t a big deal, but this is racing and it doesn’t take a big deal to mess things up. So having all three cars the same can’t hurt. It will also give us what we need as we get into the heart of the season,” concluded David.
This next Saturday McIntosh and Kerr will both be at Smoky Mountain on Saturday night for the WoO sanctioned Fifth Annual Mountain Outlaw 50.
