MARYVILLE, Tenn. (June16) Billy and Tommy were out in the early laps of the SAS Scott Sexton Memorial at Volunteer Speedway Saturday night after each suffered body damage in separate incidents.
Billy was out first on the first lap of the event. On the first attempt to start the race he found himself with no place to go and was caught up in a chain reaction wreck. Almost half the field was involved in the wreck but teammate Tommy was able to miss it.
While Billy was done for the night and in the pits Tommy was involved in another racing altercation that prematurely ended his night when he hit the wall. In the final rundown Billy was scored 15th and Tommy 21st.
“We had some distributor problems on Billy’s car when he was qualifying so we were not up front. We got that taken care of and he had passed four cars at the drop of the green only to get caught up in that first lap deal,” said David. “Tommy was involved in a separate deal, hit the wall and lost the nose and a fender.
So far this year this is the first one of these early outs and hopefully it will be the last one.”
This Saturday night both Ogle and Kerr will be racing in the Lucas Oil Ole Smoky Moonshine Classic at Smoky Mountain Speedway on Saturday night.
