MARYVILLE, Tenn. (June 11) Tommy was on a roll at I-75 Speedway. He was fast qualifier in group A with a track record time of 11.889 seconds, started on the pole and led the first 16 laps of the 40-lap main when he ran over something and had to pit to fix a flat tire.

“This is really getting old,” said David. “We had a great car, set a new track record in qualifying and had a flat while leading the race. I mean what do you have to do for just a little bit of good luck?”

The bad luck didn’t end there. Tommy pitted, restarted on the tail of the field, worked his way to fifth and while making a pass for fourth made contact with another car and tore the nose off the car. He was scored 10th in the final rundown.

“This is really some kind of a season we are having,” said Tommy, who drives part time and is one of the team owners. “I was pretty much on the outside looking in, but now some of this run of bad luck we have been having has run over me too.

We had a great car and we were really hooked up. We set a new track record started the pole and were never really challenged and then the flat. Then we were coming back up through the field and got the nose tore off the car.”

This next weekend will be another busy one for BMS. Casey and the Boys will be making up the rainouts at Crossville on Thursday, Ponderosa on Friday and Richmond on Saturday and Tommy will be running at Smoky Mountain. Saturday David will come back to Smoky Mountain and race with Tommy on Saturday night in the Big Daddy 500 while Casey with Taylor and Eric will do the Mike Roland Memorial at Richmond Raceway.
