MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Apr. 13) If you are involved in racing you have to be able to be able to shrug off all the frustrating things that can happen on a car with thousands of moving parts and pieces. On Saturday night that is exactly what Donald McIntosh and the Blount Motorsports team had to do when a dry sump belt came off and ended an outstanding run in the WoO sanctioned event at Tazewell Speedway

McIntosh qualified second quick, won his heat race over Jimmie Owens and on the reshuffle ended up starting on the pole. He would lead the first half dozen laps, get passed by Josh Richards and was running second a few laps later when the dry sump belt came off putting the car in the pits for the remainder of the race.

“It is one of those things that happens in racing and all you can do is shrug it off, go back to the shop and get ready for the next one,” said David Bryant. “The things that are breaking are not breaking because someone at BMS did something wrong. They are not breaking because we are not doing our maintenance or not taking care of business. They are breaking for reasons that are out of our control and that can really get to you if you let it.

We still haven’t figured out what caused the dry sump belt to come off. When we do find out we will fix it and keep on doing what we need to do to get ready for the next race. It is all part of racing.”

The next two races will be the OMG Spring Nationals events at Swainsboro Raceway on Friday night and Golden Isles Speedway on Saturday night.
