MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 23) Although work on the cars has not stopped since the last checkered flag fell at Cleveland Speedway in November plans for the 2012 season are still in their infancy.
“We know that we will be racing at Volusia Speedway Park in Florida during Speedweeks. That and the Southern All Star banquet are the only things on our schedule so far,” said Larry Garner. “We are looking at all of our options, talking with sponsors and working on getting a plan together for the rest of the season.
No matter what we decide we want to build on our 2011 finish and keep that momentum going so we can get off to a fast start in 2012.”
As there is a wealth of good racing in and around East Tennessee the team can stay within a 250 mile radius of the shop and run eight Lucas Oil Series races, four WoO Late Model races and a number of good paying sanctioned and non-sanctioned events.
“Until we see all the series schedules we are not going to worry about anything other than having a good strong start,” said Southern All Star defending champion Billy Ogle Jr. “We learned a lot at Voulusia County last year and think we have a pretty good car and motor combination to take back there this year.”
