MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Jun 16) Donald McIntosh and the Blount Motorsports Team enjoyed a good weekend with McIntosh winning the Ultimate event at 411 Motor Speedway on Friday night and charging to a second place finish in the SAS Scott Sexton Memorial at Volunteer Speedway on Saturday night.

Keeping a hard charging Casey Roberts at bay McIntosh led every lap of the 40-lap event Friday night at 411. It was his fifth win of the season.

“This was the new car and it looks like we have finally figured out what it likes. We made some good decisions, Donald did a fine job behind the wheel and the result was a really good weekend,” said David Bryant.

Teammate Tommy Kerr started 8th and had moved to third when something hit the breather and caused the throttle linkage to hang up. Kerr would end up sixth in the final tally.

Saturday’s night action saw McIntosh start eighth in the Scott Sexton Memorial. He would charge to the front moving into third place behind leader Scott Douglas and second running Ray Cook on the 21st circuit. Cook would take the lead from Douglas with four laps remaining and go on to take the win, McIntosh would move past Douglas for second on the white flag lap.

“We had on hard tires and everything was working just fine, until the caution came out and stayed out for about 25 minutes and that killed the tires. Donald did a good job getting second on the last lap and we came away with a good weekend,” concluded Bryant.

Next up on the schedule is the Lucas Oil Ole Smoky Moonshine Classic at Smoky Mountain Speedway next Saturday night.
