MARYVILLE, Tenn. (July 16) Although there was not a win in two nights of racing, both nights brought fourth good finishes, additional information and a complete race car back in the hauler at nights end.

Tommy and the Blount Motorsports team competed in the Southern All Star event at North Georgia Speedway on Friday night. After qualifying sixth and running as high as fourth Kerr crossed the finish line seventh.

“We had a good car and a decent run,” said Tommy. “The Delaware restarts cost us on a couple of occasions, but all and all we were pleased with the run.”

On Saturday night it was time for some home cooking, racing at The Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville. A combination of a new little girl, Kaylee, at home and an Advance Thunder race next weekend called for a short trip down the road to the 4/10 mile clay oval in south Blount County. They came up one spot shy of winning the feature.

“We needed to get some laps in at the Mountain before next weeks Advance Thunder race and it is always nice to race in front of friends, fans and family,” continued Tommy who won the track championship there in 2005. “A track changes on a regular basis and as tough as the competition is in the Thunder Series every little advantage you can pick up helps.”

Look for Tommy and the Advance Thunder point leading Blount Motorsports team at Mountain Raceway Park this Saturday night.
