MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Nov.5) Getting a jump on the 2015 season Blount Motorsports will debut a new Rocket powered by a new Vic Hill engine at the WoO World Finals at Charlotte this weekend.

“With the less than stellar season we had in 2014 we decided now would be a good time to get a new car together and shake it down so we are ready to go in 2015,” said Larry. “With the World Finals this weekend and three more races before Thanksgiving we will have a good idea what we need to do with the car and can apply that over the winter to the other new chassis sitting in the shop.”

The team with driver Donald McIntosh behind the wheel practiced the new car at Smoky Mountain Speedway yesterday and everyone was pleased with how the practice went.

David said, “The new car went really well and we were pleased with yesterday’s test. Donald liked the feel of the car and he posted some good times.”

The team realizes that Charlotte might not be the best place to debut a new car, but with only so many races remaining in the year they felt like they didn’t have a choice.

“Right now the car and the driver both need track time. Although we could think of better places to take a new car, this time of year our options are limited so we will load it up and go to Charlotte and see what we have,” concluded David.
