MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 8) In racing there are going to be bad weekends and Blount Motorsports, who doesn’t have many of them, chalked up one this weekend at the Ice Bowl.
In line getting ready to qualify on Saturday when they fired up the car one of the spark plugs fouled. The car wasn’t close to where it needed to be in qualifying and that put them starting back in their heat and in the consi.
“Its winter day time dirt track racing and if you end up starting back in your heat, consi and/or the race you are pretty much out of luck,” said David. “We don’t have many bad weekends and we are going to chalk it up as this being one of them and go on.”
The team is getting the old X1R ready to go. They will be testing both cars prior to heading to Golden Isles for the Lucas Oil Super Bowl of Racing on the second and third of February.
“We need to race, get Casey some time behind the wheel and get some kind of rhythm going. With that in mind we are looking at adding races to the schedule in March,” concluded David.
