MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 22) Ignition problems spoiled Donald and the Boy’s debut of new XR1 Rocket chassis at Winchester Speedway on Saturday afternoon.

Donald, who won his heat and started seventh on the grid of the 40-lap WinterFest, had moved his way to fourth and was knocking on the door for third when the engine began to sputter on the sixth circuit and he coasted into the pits. He was scored 23rd in the final rundown.

“When the engine started popping Donald shut it down and coasted into the pits. At first we thought it might be something in the engine, but it turned out to be the ignition,” said David Bryant. “This was the new XR1 chassis from Rocket and we are really excited about how good it works, feels and runs.”

The next outing for Donald, Blount Motorsports and the XR1 will be the Frostbuster 50 this coming weekend at 411 Motor Speedway.

“We have run well at 411 and started the last two seasons with wins there”, said Donald. “We are looking forward to going there with the new car and getting things back on track.”
