LAVONIA, Ga. (Aug. 15) Tommy Kerr and the BMS team stayedhot as they scored their second Advance Thunder win in the last eight days bybeating a strong field of cars at Lavonia Speedway Friday night.

Kerr qualified the Blount Excavating/Kelso Oil CompanyCustom Engines powered Rocket Chassis Late Model fourth. He ran third in theFast Dash and started third on the grid for the $4,000 to win 40-lap AdvancedThunder Series event. At the drop of the green fast qualifier and pole sitterRandall Chupp, outside front row starter Rick Rogers and Kerr dove into thefirst turn. When the trio exited turn two Kerr had the lead. He would lead thefirst lap and the next 39 to take the win.

The win followed up their Advanced Thunder win a weekearlier at Boyd’s Speedway. In the last three weeks the BMS team has recordedfour wins, two seconds and a thirteenth place finish. The thirteenth placefinish came at Wartburg Speedway when a rock went through the radiator withthree laps to go. He had led every lap and was leading the race at the time.

“We are on a roll and it sure feels good. I could get usedto this,” grinned Kerr. “The team has come together and we are hitting on alleight cylinders.”

Kerr went on to say that they know how fickle racing is andhow a winning streak can be short lived.

“When you are on a roll you try to race as much as you can, because you know it won’t last. I know for a fact that winless streaks will goon longer than win streaks,” concluded Kerr still grinning.

Tonight the action moves to Tri-County Race Track inBrasstown, NC for another Advanced Thunder event.
