MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 12) Although Blount Motorsports, with Donald McIntosh behind the wheel, failed to make either of the two World Final features at the Dirt Track at Charlotte, they came away with a good feeling about the new car and the direction their program is headed.

“We knew going in that taking a new car to Charlotte, where you have a Crown Jewel quality field, was not the best idea, but with the season winding down there are only so many races left and we want to get things dialed in for next year,” said David. “Although we didn’t make a feature we learned a lot about the car and we came away knowing we have a good race car.”

The team qualified 10th in their group for Friday night and 11th in their group for Saturday night. This put them starting on the outside second row of the first heat on Friday and outside of the second row in the fourth heat on Saturday night.

On Friday night the fast groove was on the bottom. Donald started and was trapped on the outside. And before he could get to the bottom he was ninth. He was able to race back to seventh in the 10-lap event.

On Saturday night another outside start in a loaded heat. Before Donald could get off the outside he jumped the cushion and tested the wall. The car had damage to the right front corner and was done for the night.

“The fact that it is a new car and we are still learning what it likes came back to bite us a little bit. We were fast in practice and we didn’t tighten up the car enough before the heat so we were too loose,” concluded David.

The team heads to Duck River for this weekends Southern Nationals Bonus race with McIntosh behind the wheel.
