MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 6) Tommy Kerr and the BMS Team ran three races over the weekend and the combination of a number of flat tires and a poor qualifying run left the team with little to show for their efforts.

On Thursday night for the Tarheel 50 at Tri-County Race Track a flat tire put the team in the pits, Tommy was listed 16th in final rundown. On Friday night Kerr qualified and started 11th. After moving up to seventh a flat right rear sent them to the pits. They came back out and were up to 12th when another flat right rear sent them to the pits.

“After the second flat at Rome we were out of right rear tires so we just parked it,” said Tommy. “We had a good car but the flats got us both nights.”

On Saturday night Tommy and the team headed to Dixie Speedway for the Lucas Oil Shootout. Two slow qualifying laps led to a poor starting position in the heat race that led to a poor starting position in the consi that led to not making the race.

“To say we had a bad night at Dixie is an understatement,” said team owner Larry Garner. “We didn’t do what was needed to make the race and spent the night watching instead of participating. All the way around it was not a good weekend and the fact that we have been running so well made it seem even worse.”

This next Saturday Tommy and the BMS team will be at Crossville Raceway for the Late Model Special. In two weeks they will be at the Dirt Track World Championship in Ohio on Friday and Saturday and back to The Mountain on Sunday for the Advance Thunder finale.
