MARYVILLE, Tenn. (July 31) With races scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights it was going to be a long weekend for Tommy Kerr and the BMS team. With truck problems knocking them out of Thursday night’s race and race car problems at Tazewell on Saturday night an already long weekend became considerably longer.

Getting ready to go to Cleveland Speedway for the Southern National event on Thursday they discovered brake problems with the hauler. So instead of spending their time racing at Cleveland they spent most of the night fixing the truck at the shop in Maryville so they could get to Friday night’s race at Volunteer.

On Friday night they qualified fifth and ran seventh in the Southern National event at Volunteer Speedway.

“We had a good car, but could have made a better choice on tires,” said Tommy.

On Saturday it was time to head to Tazewell for the Southern National finale. Twelve laps into the main event the J-bar collapsed which got the drive shaft. When the driveshaft came out it took a lot of adjacent parts and pieces with it. Needless to say it was the end of the night for Tommy and the team.

The Advance Thunder Series swings back into action this Saturday night at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, Ky. As Tommy and the team have never seen the track let alone raced on it and they will have to be on top of their game in order to hold their lead in the series point chase.
