MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 5) Donald’s weekend in the Blount Motorsports Rocket involved some good runs at Tri-County, Dixie and Rome Speedways, but came up short with a third, a thirteenth and an eighth place finish.
Sunday at Rome for the Lucas Rome Showdown Donald set fast time picking up the PFC Brakes Pole Award and won the first heat. During the race it seemed like they would loose a position on every restart.
“We had a good race car and qualified and heat raced really good. I am not sure why, but it seemed like we lost. a spot on every restart and we ended up finishing eighth,” said David.
Saturday night at Dixie for the Lucas Oil Dixie Shootout McIntosh would finish fourth in the second heat and start 15th on the grid. When the checkered flag fell he crossed the line 13th.
“We had a middle of the road car. There was not a whole lot of passing going on and not much Donald could do. He managed to improve two spots,” continued David.
Friday night at Tri-County Race Track for the SNBS Tarheel 50, Donald qualified and started second and posted a third place finish.
“We made the wrong choice on the right rear tire and that cost us. With that said it was not a bad night at Tri-County,” concluded David.
