MARYVILLE, Tenn. (May 2) Donald qualified fourth, started fourth and finished fourth in the Spring Nationals event at Ponderosa Speedway Friday night.
The drivers were treated to what was described as rigorous driving conditions and or a rugged track surface at the 3/8s mile clay oval. At one point Donald took the lead, but one of five cautions of the night put him back where he was running on the previous lap.
“If we could have gotten a 10-lap run without a caution I think there might have been a different finish, but frankly the track was junk,” said David. “Donald did a good job all things considered. We will take our fourth place finish and feel fortunate not to have too much stuff to repair and replace.”
The next race for the Blount Motorsport Team will be the unsanctioned event on Friday night at Tri-County Race Track followed WoO Mountain Outlaw 50 next Saturday at Smoky Mountain Speedway. Both McIntosh and teammate Tommy Kerr will be running the WoO event on Saturday night.
