MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 11) With the track freezing during Friday night qualifying and day racing on Saturday the Blount Motorsports team was happy to salvage a ninth place finish at Duck River Raceway Park.
On Friday night driver Donald McIntosh was the last one to go out to qualify and that was just before it was determined that the track was icing up. The remaining events for the night cancelled do to the ice.
David Bryant continues to shake his head wondering if this season will ever end. “Going out last in qualifying hurt as the track was treacherous and on the second lap Donald (McIntosh) found the wall. That put us behind, but we were able to scramble and finished third in the consi on Saturday to start 21st in the feature.”
We had a fast race car, turned some good laps with it and moved up 12 spots to finish ninth in the feature, but we still haven’t been able to catch a break. ”
This coming weekend the team will head for Cleveland Speedway’s Friday night Southern All Star show and then go over the Boyd’s Speedway for the Gobbler of Saturday night.
Plans call for the team to start the season with the Hangover Classic at 411 Speedway on January 1 and follow that with the Ice Bowl at Talladega Short Track.
