MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Sept 28) After a season long session of car woes it looked like Blount Motorsports was on the road to recovery after winning the Southern Nationals Championship and recording their first win of the season when mechanical problems knocked teammates Donald and Tommy out of the feature.
Tommy would start 10th and work his way up to seventh before something broke in the valve train and put him in the pits. He finished 20th. Donald would start 17th work his way up to eight when drivetrain problems put him in the pits. He was scored 10th in the final tally.
“What are you gonna do? Well at least this time it was mechanical and not the cars,” said David who is waiting to debut the new Rocket they just picked up and readied. “It has been a long hard season and we are not the only things that are wore out.”
The plans for this weekend call for racing the non-sanctioned $5,000 to win event at 411 Motor Speedway Saturday night.
We will see how that new car shakes out at 411 on Saturday. Then we will see where we go from there,” concluded David.
Blount Motorsports enjoys sponsorship from Stowers (CAT) Machinery Corp., Blount Excavating, Massey Electric, Turner Hydraulics, Ole Ben Franklin Motors and The Wine and Spirits Cellar.
