MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 26) Mechanical problems have plagued Blount Motorsports all season and with Donald back in the car for the Leftover race at 411 Motor Speedway Saturday unfortunately it was more of the same.
Donald won his heat, started seventh and was running in second working on the leader on lap 15 when the jackshaft in the rear end went south.
“I am sure that the rear end suffered some trauma when we had transmission problems earlier in the year and that is what created this problem,” said David. “This was a fitting end to a less than wonderful year and hopefully the last of it.
Donald had the car going good and even though he got the right side tore off early in the race we had a winning car. Until the rear end went.”
Donald who piloted the BMS Rocket in 2016 and 17 felt good in the car and enjoyed being back with Bryant.
“It didn’t take long for David and I to get back on the same page and everything felt good and went well,” said Donald. “In the two years I raced at BMS I always enjoyed my relationship with Larry and David and it was great to be part of that deal again.”
Blount Motorsports will make their driver announcement at the PRI show next week in Indianapolis. The first race of the season for the team will be the Hangover at 411 Motor Speedway on December 29.
Blount Motorsports enjoys sponsorship from Stowers (CAT) Machinery Corp., Blount Excavating, Massey Electric, Tennessee RV, Turner Hydraulics, Ole Ben Franklin Motors, Food City, and The Wine and Spirits Cellar.
