MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Mar. 30) Blount Motorsports drivers Donald and Tommy both had their night shortened by mechanical problems during the Ultimate event at Smoky Mountain Speedway Saturday night.

Donald, who qualified 11th won his B-Main and started eleventh. He was moving toward the front and was racing Mike Marlar for second when the rear end came apart.

“We were off in qualifying, but after winning the B-Main we were looking good in the feature. Donald was racing for second then the new rear end came apart,” said David. “I don’t think we would have had anything for Weaver as hot as he is, but we will never know.”

Tommy was also off qualifying and was running second in the B-Main when a dirt clod took out the top radiator hose. He would start the feature dead last.

“Tommy was running good in the feature. He was passing cars and moving up through the field when the car bottomed out and got the second radiator and ended his night,” concluded Bryant.

The Old Mans Garage Spring Nationals kicks off this Thursday at 201 Speedway, followed by Ponderosa Speedway on Friday and Florence Speedway of Saturday night.
