MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 18) For Donald McIntosh and Blount Motorsports it was another frustrating outing at the Southern All Star Series Governor’s Cup at Talladega Short Track on Saturday night. McIntosh who started fifth in the 60-lap event was unable to advance and ended up with a fifth place finish.

Mistakes were made by other drivers giving McIntosh a number of opportunities to advance during the feature, but he didn’t have the car to take advantage of them.

“There were plenty of opportunities during the race for me to pass cars and move up, but the car wasn’t where it needed to be and I couldn’t make the pass,” said McIntosh. “The changes we are making to the car aren’t working like they should. I am not sure what the answer is or what we need, but we need something.”

McIntosh and BMS’s last good run was back in the spring, but since their win at Boyd’s Speedway on the second of May there has been few bright spots and a lot of frustration.

“We have been close, but close doesn’t get it. We have been a lot like we were Saturday night at TST where we could get along side the car in front of us, but didn’t have enough to make the pass,” said David Bryant. “We are all frustrated. We need to figure something out and will keep thrashing until we do.”

The next race is another Southern All Star event at I-75 raceway this Saturday night.
